Before G.I. Joe was even released, many of us around the web were already talking about a sequel. While G.I. Joe 2 may have seemed an obvious decision, these days sequels are hardly a sure thing (see Superman Returns). But Paramount is happy enough with G.I. Joe that they’re ready to move forward on PART 2. Rob Moore, the studio’s vice chairman, told the LA Times that the G.I. Joe sequel will “soon go into development” and that all the lead actors are “contractually obligated to return.” He did add that director Stephen Sommers has the option to decline a sequel though.
Enjoy these additional HQ photos of Rachel Nichols at the Los Angeles screening this past week. Rachel was an absolute knock out at this screening wearing a Kaufman Franco Fall 2009 white jersey open back gown, with a ruffled knotted detail on the back.
Rachel also opted for a red lip and accessorized with elegant drop emerald earrings.
Even more photos from the big event will be up next week!
One month after the record-breaking opening of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the team of Paramount and game-maker Hasbro proved again that toys are serious business at the box office. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra overcame bad buzz and scathing reviews to win the weekend with $56.2 million, among the best August openings in history for a non-sequel. The win also adds box office clout to the careers of stars Channing Tatum (Fighting) and Sienna Miller (Stardust), who both scored career bests.
